Improvements at Kadoka Location Included Safety Focus
12/05/2011
We continue our ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities and enhance services to best meet the needs of our area farmers and ranchers. Our Kadoka location, in particular, has experienced much of this activity.
Our board of directors recently made the decision to shutter an old wooden crib house at Kadoka. The decision will not affect the grain services our patrons have come to expect at this location. And while there are no immediate plans to demolish the crib, it will be closed off in order to remain OSHA compliant. The safety of employees and patrons remains Midwest Cooperatives’ number one priority.
The focus at Kadoka is and will continue to be grain handling. Our energy and feed businesses were moved over to our Philip location where we could serve customers more efficiently and cost effectively, but there are no plans to close the Kadoka location.
As part of CHS Inc., Midwest Cooperatives contributed to its recently reported record 2011 fiscal year earnings. While our own financials are not yet ready to announce, we continue to be financially solid and anticipate distributing strong patronage back to our member-owners in February.
